Welcome to my studio!
My name is Justin, and I play the cello! I have been teaching for four years in the Atlanta metro area. Just prior to my move to Atlanta, I received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Georgia, and taught lessons in Pennsylvania.
As a member of my cello studio, you will join other young cellists who are dedicated to both improving their cello playing and watching their goals come to fruition. My students perform at a high level and see vast improvement in their critical thinking skills, performance ability, and - most of all - their overall cello playing abilities.

Elite Student Program
Students who desire a higher level of musical study can apply to join my Elite Student Program, a conservatory prep lesson and performance program. Elite students receive a weekly 60 minute lesson, bi-weekly coached rehearsals with a collaborative pianist, and perform a full, solo recital each year. All students in the Elite Program are expected to audition for competitions and perform in extra-curricular ensembles and chamber music programs.
Registration in the Elite Program is limited to three students each year, and requires a successful audition for acceptance. You can learn more about the Elite Student Program by clicking here. Please fill out the registration form to apply for the Elite Program:
Even More Information!
Expectations are high for all students in my cello studio! Each student will feel challenged to improve week by week, through intelligent practicing and smart goal-setting. It is not my intention to overwhelm a student with cello activities, and I go out of my way to tailor my teaching to a student’s goals. That said, my studio is not for everyone: many of my students come to lessons with big dreams - to win competitions, audition for All State Orchestras, and audition for conservatories and university music schools. It's my intention to help each student achieve the dreams they have for their cello playing!

I’ve structured my studio to engage in a student’s lasting achievement, over the course of many years. Instantaneous results are neither encouraged nor expected - in fact, regular failures are an exciting part of learning - while small, weekly achievements will hopefully lead to larger, yearly victories! Though I do not necessarily expect that all of my students will go on to major in music, I do expect them to develop the resolve to push through adversity and stress that will benefit them in music, their schoolwork, and in all of life’s challenges.
